He has continued to develop his interest in musculo skeletal medicine and is presently the GP with special interests for the local PCT providing musculo skeletal clinics and advice of development of orthopaedic services to the PCT.

He was Chairman of the Warwickshire Medical Audit Group for ten years and a Research Associate of the University of Warwick.

He has an interest in understanding the legal professions requirements. When he first used the Guidelines for the Assessment of General Damages and Personal Injury cases compiled by the Judicial Studies Board, this was used to try and ensure that personal injury reports contained all the relevant details. This led to a realisation that there was a considerable gulf of understanding. This led Dr Brown to read more widely and subsequently take a sabbatical and complete LLB and LLM degrees.
